174 Ninth ave
The store itself is deceptively simple, composed of three materials: walnut, plaster, and stone. The floor is constructed of large hand-cut bluestone pavers dryset without mortar. A twenty-foot slab of natural walnut acts as the sole ornament, floating inches above the stone floor.
By the use of traditional building techniques, the concept was translated into a spare linear landscape with a distinct handcrafted edge.
